How it all started

My name is Tessa de Goede de Ordoñez. In 2002, I first discovered the beauty of Latin America. Not only because of its spectacular nature, but also because of the work I was doing as a volunteer. I began by caring for handicapped children in Peru and ended up as an English teacher in Ecuador. Eventually, I lost my heart to Guatemala. I perfected my Spanish and started working in a local public school and in the hospital with babies born with cleft lip and palate.

This paved the way for other projects and ideas and led to the foundation of Tess Unlimited. I have lived in Guatemala ever since, and I am fortunate to be able to work with a fantastic team!

About the foundation

The Tess Unlimited Foundation is based in the Netherlands (Chamber of Commerce 08181442) and included in the ANBI-register from the Tax Authorities. The ANBI quality mark ensures that you can deduct your donations to us in the income tax return. we are not registered in the United States.

Besides the people we work with daily, we also work with partners such as the Lilliane Fonds (in The Netherlands) Smile Train (in America) and Muses (volunteer training). In addition, we are extremely happy with the people who work for Tess Unlimited as members of the board, as volunteers and as founders of a Club of 100.
